Std. XI Orientation

An orientation programme exclusively organized for Class 11 parents and students at Sophia High School on 2nd June, 2023, was a highly anticipated event. The aim of the programme was to provide valuable insights to parents and students about the programmes planned for the upcoming academic year and to create awareness regarding the mental health and well-being of adolescents. Dr. Harshini Manohar, Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NIMHANS was the Chief Guest as well as keynote speaker for the special occasion.

The opening ceremony commenced at 9:00 AM and the music was led by Ms. Annie and Mr. Elton. The Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the event was Ms. Lali. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the presence of knowledge and enlightenment. Sr. Alpana SND, the Principal, along with
Ms. Sobha Joshy, the head girl, Isaiah Kaur John and a new parent and student from Class 11, had the honour of lighting the lamp.

Dr. Harshini Manohar delivered an informative and insightful keynote address on the topic of mental health and well-being of adolescents. She spoke about the challenges faced by teenagers, such as mood swings, temper management, and peer pressure and provided guidance on how parents and students can effectively manage these issues. Her expertise in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry resonated with the audience and provided valuable knowledge and strategies to ensure the overall well-being of the students.

Following the oration, the faculty members of Sophia High School introduced themselves and their respective subjects. This allowed parents and students to familiarize themselves with the teaching staff who will be guiding them throughout the academic year.

Ms. Sireesha, a senior staff member, took the opportunity to read out the school rules and regulations. This ensured that both parents and students were aware of the guidelines and expectations set by the school administration. Ms. Marina Crystal, presented a detailed presentation on Prifact and registration.

The orientation programme was a resounding success. The event proceeded as per the planned schedule, with all sessions being conducted promptly. The smooth execution of the programme allowed attendees to maximize their time and gain valuable insights without any delays or disruptions.

Following the programme, parents and students were invited to the school ground where tea and snacks were provided. This informal setting allowed for networking and interaction between parents, students, and the ISC School Faculty. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to purchase school uniforms, books, and shoes conveniently on the premises.

The orientation programme received immense appreciation from the parents of class 11. They expressed their satisfaction with the informative sessions, keynote address, and the overall organization of the event. The interaction with the faculty members also provided reassurance and confidence to the parents about their children's academic journey at Sophia High School.
