Date: Saturday, 2nd August 2025
Time: 9:00 AM to 12:45 PM
Venue: Augustine Nivas, Kaveri Layout, Bangalore
On Saturday, 2nd August 2025, the students of Class XI A of Sophia High
School, accompanied by their class teacher Ms. Arnavaz K Kapadia and co-
teacher Ms. Vinitha, visited Augustine Nivas as part of their Outreach
Programme. Fifty-two enthusiastic students boarded the school bus in the
morning, eager to interact with the residents of the old age home and share their
talents and warmth.
Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed by Sister Lillian and
Mr. P. T. Joseph, who graciously offered a guided tour of the facility. They
explained to our students the background of Augustine Nivas, the lives of its
residents, and the wonderful work being done to provide them with care and
companionship.
The community hall was arranged for our students to showcase their
performances. They presented two energetic dances and a medley of seven to
eight songs in both English and regional languages. The atmosphere was electric
as the residents of Augustine Nivas joined in, singing and dancing with joy.
In a heartwarming initiative, our students conducted a unique quiz with memory-
evoking questions, asking the residents about their first day at work, and who
among them was the most talkative, organized, or active. This activity brought
smiles, laughter, and fond nostalgia to everyone.
Additionally, the students created a “Thank You and Appreciation Jar,” filled with
heartfelt messages describing the value and inspiration the residents brought into
their lives. This special gift was presented to them with immense gratitude. One
of the students also recited a touching poem, which deeply moved the gathering.
The morning concluded with more singing, dancing, and a group photograph,
capturing the spirit of togetherness and love. As a gesture of appreciation, Sister
Lillian and Mr. P. T. Joseph were felicitated with a thank-you card and a small
token of gratitude.
Our students expressed that this outreach experience was truly enriching and
memorable, leaving an everlasting impression on their hearts.
