BUS FACILITIES

The school has a tie up with the BMTC and currently has 16 different routes that cover some of the major areas of Bangalore for the convenience of students and staff. School office may be contacted for further details.
SOPHIA BRASS BAND

The Sophia Brass Band introduced in 1974,consists of an enthusiastic team of over a hundred and fifty students, carefully selected through auditions conducted for students from standard 8 to standard 12. Talented musicians from the Sophia Opportunity School are also part of the school band. The band is an integral part of all important school events the chief among them being Sports Day , Independence and Republic Day.The Junior Brass Band trains students from Standard 4 who eventually graduate to the school band.
SPORTS

A healthy mind dwells in a healthy body.Sports is an important part of holistic education that Sophia offers. Athletes have represented the school in prestigious district, state,and national tournaments in throwball, basketball, swimming, tennis, badminton amongst others . The school also hosts annual basketball and throwball tournaments.The school hosts its Annual Sports Day, a much awaited event in Sophia. Students of the four houses, Barat, Bennett, Anderrsson, and Julie, compete with one another to earn the title of the Winning House.
YOGA

Sophia believes in the development of the body,mind and soul in unison . Yoga has been introduced in 2007 and remains an important part of Sophia life.
NCC

Introduced in Sophia in 2019 ,the National Cadet Corps trains cadets in discipline and inculcates a sense of patriotism among the youth.The cadets offer services during various school events responding to the call of duty.
INTERACT CLUB

The youth wing of the Rotary Club plays an active part in Sophia and is engaged in several social welfare initiatives in and around Bangalore. Students of class nine are elected as office bearers. Service before self remains the primary motto of its members.
SCHOOL AUDITORIUM

The state of the art auditorium ,built in 2008 with a capacity of 1350 ,is an integral part of the school campus. It hosts several important school events that include musicals and seminars.
LIBRARY

The libraries for the primary and high school are well stocked with a wide range of fiction and nonfiction books of varying genres.Journals, magazines and newspapers help students to explore the frontiers of knowledge.
GALILEO DIGITAL LIBRARY

The school is home to the largest digital library to provide students with an exhaustive pool of resources for their education. This library also has a tie up with 270 universities offering valuable support for higher education.
ALOYSIA

The Aloysia programme is a reinforcement educational activity for children of the Angels orphanage in Shivajinagar. Students of standard XI have the exclusive privilege to volunteer for this activity and facilitate the learning process of the underprivileged students. They are supported by teacher volunteers in this endeavour.
