The Alumni Meet held on August 3rd at Sophia High School was a heart-
warming celebration of the school’s 75th anniversary, bringing together over
2,500 alumni from around the world, many of whom are distinguished in their
respective fields, to relive cherished memories.
The event began with a warm welcome, followed by an address from Principal
Sr. Alpana, who highlighted the significance of the reunion. A captivating
dance performance titled "Rejuvenate," choreographed by alumna Siya
Mukund, showcased the vibrant energy of the students.
The lighting of the lamp ceremony, conducted by Chief Guest
Sr. Chetana and other dignitaries, added a spiritual touch to the celebrations.
Attendees enjoyed a poetic narration of the school's history, accompanied by
a visual enactment from the faculty. A video presentation, “The Chronicles of
Sophia,” curated by Mr. Titto Paul, took the audience on a journey through the
school's legacy.
The keynote address by Sr. Chetana inspired attendees, with a special
message from Justice B.V. Nagarathna, an alumna and the incoming Chief
Justice of India, adding to the pride of the occasion.
The event featured heartfelt felicitations for past Principals and notable sisters,
who received tokens of appreciation for their contributions to the school. The
newly registered Sophia Alumni Association was also introduced by President
Priya Chetty Rajagopal, who shared its vision and mission.
The evening concluded with a nostalgic sing-along and the school song,
fostering a sense of pride and community. The fellowship dinner that followed
provided a wonderful opportunity for alumni to reconnect and celebrate their
shared experiences. Overall, the Alumni Meet was a memorable tribute to the
enduring spirit of Sophia High School.
