The Sophia Athletics team enjoyed an exceptional season, fueled by high
energy, unwavering enthusiasm, and deep-seated resilience. Beyond the
scoreboards and podiums, this journey was defined by the lessons learned in
overcoming adversity. By embracing new strategies and sharpening their
technical skills, our athletes discovered the true essence of collaborative
teamwork and the power of steadfast perseverance.
The athletes of our school have taken part in different competitions held at
different levels and have secured a remarkable medal haul !
On the 8th of August, 2025, St. Francis Xavier Girls’ School, Bangalore, served
as the host for the CISCE Games and Sports 2025: Zonal Level Athletics
Championships (Zone-1) for the Karnataka and Goa region. Representing our
school with great pride, 13 athletes competed across the Under-14, Under-17,

they clinched Silver in the 4x100m relay and Gold in the 4x400m relay event.
Building on their stellar Zonal performance, five elite athletes across the U-14, U-
17, and U-19 categories advanced to the CISCE Regional Athletics Meet at
Kittur Rani Chennamma Stadium, Jayanagar, held on the 11th and 12th of
August, 2025. The team delivered a masterclass in speed and stamina, securing
an impressive haul of 5 Gold, 5 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal. Highlighting the

Silver in the 4x100m relay event.
The momentum continued at the CISCE National Athletics Meet, hosted by
Vismaya Academy at the Jayaprakash Narayan National Youth Training Center.
Representing Karnataka State in the U-14 category, I, S.A. Maria Angela
Amelia, faced the nation’s best and successfully secured a Silver medal in the
4x100m relay, capping off a remarkable season for both the school and the
state!
Beyond these major milestones, our athletes also left their mark on several other
prestigious platforms, including the BUDAA District Athletic Meet and the Mini
Olympic Games. Through sheer grit and determination, we secured multiple
notable achievements at these events, further demonstrating the depth of talent
and consistency within our sports program.
Reflecting on this journey, we are first and foremost grateful to the Almighty for
the strength and grace he has bestowed upon us to compete in these
competitions and blessing us and helping us emerge victorious in our events.
We would like to thank our beloved principal Sr. Alpana for being a pillar of
support and encouragement. We would also like to acknowledge and owe a
special debt of gratitude to Ms. Anitha for her endless support and motivation.
These victories are a testament to the unwavering support of our coaches and
mentors, whose guidance has been instrumental in our growth. We look forward
to carrying this momentum into the next season, fueled by the belief that
Success is a journey, not a destination, as we aim to reach even greater
heights.
