Chess 2025-26

"Believing in oneself is the first step to achieving the impossible."

In the academic year 2025-26, our very own Chess team of Under 14 (Kushi Punith 6D, M.V Bilvani 7B, Twish Batavia 6C, Prisha K 7C, Priyal K 7D), Under 17 (Dhruvi S 10B, Mahi Batavia 8B, Aadya Manjunatha 8B, Tanisha S 8B, Ethal Maria 7D) and Under 19 (G K Sresha 10C, Serah Z Simon 10B, Lakshya P 9B) shone brightly in the recent zonal championships held in 17 th & 18 th July 2025. With sheer grit and skillful play, they dominated the CISCE Chess Championship, displaying outstanding discipline and talent. From the Under 19 category, Serah Z Simon 10B and G K Sresha 10C earned their spots in the Karnataka and Goa regional team through impressive performances. In the Under 17 Category, Dhruvi S 10B and Ethal Maria 7D qualified for the Karnataka and Goa Regional team with flying colors. Similarly, from the Under 14 category,

M V Bilvani 7B and Twish Batavia 6C qualified for the Karnataka and Goa Regional team. The players truly showcased their talent against tough rivals.

The regionals, hosted at Greenwood high School on 29 th July 2025, proved to be another stage for glory. Without a dedicated coach, we practiced amongst ourselves and with our parents, honing our strokes and skills. We were Accompanied by our PE teacher, Mr. Isaac Solomon S, who was with us throughout. In the Regionals matches, Serah Z Simon and G K Sresha clinched a proud Third place in Under 19. Meanwhile, Dhruvi also clinched with Third place in Under 17. These victories stand as a testament to our self- reliance and unyielding spirit.

We owe immense gratitude to the pillars behind this success. Principal Sister Alpana, your encouragement and permission to pursue our passion meant the world! Mr. Isaac Solomon S, thank you for being there and guiding us beyond the court. And a big Thank you to our parents who were with us through thick and thin.

As we celebrate these feats, we encourage future batches to aim higher, train harder, reach the nationals again and go beyond any boundary that holds them back. With the same belief and dedication, our school's Chess team. legacy will only grow stronger, one paddle stroke at a time.
