Aloysia Christmas Extravaganza

Christmas is a season of joy, love, and sharing, and this year’s celebration was a heartwarming experience for all the Aloysia children, volunteers, teachers and sisters involved. Organised by the very own volunteers of Aloysia, the day was filled with gifts, games, dance performances and carols. Volunteers, teachers and Sisters of the Sophia High School joined hands to create a magical day filled with happiness, laughter, and generosity. It was an opportunity to give back, show kindness, and remind everyone of the profound impact of compassion.

The day began with decorations that transformed Sophia High School into a Christmas Wonderland. Tables adorned with gifts and activities, and a beautifully structured Christmas Tree of snacks, the school was set for a fulfilling Christmas Celebration.

As the children arrived, their faces lit up with excitement, seeing all the exciting things lined up for them. Each child was greeted warmly, with a Christmas Hat and were welcomed by our MC. Christmas carols filled the air as the children joined in singing along, their voices blending harmoniously to create a beautiful melody of hope and celebration.

We then saw a mindblowing performance by the Aloysia children, who had prepared a catchy dance segment as a thank you to all the volunteers. The students of Sophia High School felt incredibly touched as they saw the thoughtful performance the children had prepared. The air bustled with cheers and joy,

One of the highlights of the celebration were the games the volunteers had set in place for the children. While some of the children were immersed in the games, the others were excited to get temporary Christmas Tattoos that they would cherish back home.

After all the children had received a tattoo and had played a game or two, the gift giving ceremony took place. Thoughtfully wrapped presents, tailored to the children's ages and interests, were handed out by the volunteers, teachers and sisters who had thoughtfully prepared the program. The children jumped in joy and excitement. From pens to books, and warm clothing, each gift symbolized the Sophia High School’s effort to make the season special for these young hearts that had brought so much joy to them in the year. The children were also gifted dental kits that were sponsored by our very own Interact Club.

Ms. Sabina, the co-ordinator for Aloysia, and Mr. Sabu, who was incharge of transportation, were felicitated for their hard work in enabling us to experience the insightful opportunities of teaching children.

We were then addressed by our very own Principal Sr. Alpana who reminded us the importance of sharing and being kind to others. A heartfelt moment was shared as we all reminisced on the enjoyable time we had. The students then began saying their farewell to the children.

From singing Christmas carols to participating in arts and crafts sessions, the event was brimming with energy. A delicious snack box was served, complete with traditional treats that added to the holiday cheer. The day ended with heartfelt gratitude expressed by the organizers, children, and volunteers. It was a reminder that the true essence of Christmas lies in spreading love and joy, especially to those who need it most. This celebration not only brightened the lives of the orphans but also strengthened the community’s bond, proving that together, we can make a difference.
