Environment Day observance - Sophia High School- 5/6/ 2026 On June 5th, 2026, to mark World Environment Day Sophia Interact Club students took to covering the campus area in a vibrant rally shouting slogans aimed at raising climate action awareness among students armed with powerful messages on reused placards along with their Principals Sr.Alpana, Sr.Vishala ,Sr.Madhuja and Interact Club teachers. Moving beyond messaging, the Principals gifted students dozens of native indigenous fruit-bearing species to plant and nurture in their gardens to help support local bird and insect populations while restoring the urban ecosystem. This is a good strategy to care for, water, and protect a tree that yields tangible fresh fruits. The other benefit is expanding the canopy which directly combats the urban heat island effect, dropping local street temperatures. The school campaign effectively embraced the theme for World Environment Day which briefly put is Now For Climate;.
