Independence Day 2022

The Completion of 75 years of Indian Independence ‘AzadikaAmritmahtsav’ was celebrated on the 15 th of August 2022. Sophia in grandeur celebrated this day, the Chief guest for the day was Dr. Sabu A Joseph, retired I G of the BSF. He was welcomed with the guard of honour and the VIP call rendered by the school Brass Band. The provincial superior of the Visitation

Province Sr. Chetana, Principals, Sr. Alpana, Sr. Vishala and Sr. Madhuja along with the sisters of Notre Dame, the PTA members, parents and students of grade 4 - 12 were all part of this solemn event . The first part of the programme was the Flag Hoisting. Sophia family with great pride and honour gathered by the stone stage to hoist the National Flag. This was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, National Pledge and finally the patriotic song “Sare Jahan se Aacha” was rendered by the Sophia Brass Band.

The second part of the celebration was the cultural programme. A vibrant and colourful programme was put up by the Mater staff and students in the auditorium. This one and half an hour programme highlighted the theme of Unity in Diversity for 75 years, “One Flag, One Land, One heart.” The meaningful prayer service, the integrated skit and dance all portrayed India our Motherland as one of diverse people bearing one flag and heart that unites the country. The programme ended on a patriotic message delivered by the chief guest. The auspicious day ended with sweet distribution to all the members of the Sophia Family.
