Interact Installation 2020

The Installation Ceremony of Sophia Interact Club 2020-21 was held on 12 th Oct 2020 at 7.30 pm. It was the first ever online Installation Day that Sophia School had seen.

After a soulful invocation with a recorded prayer song by the school choir, the Installation ceremony was called to order by the outgoing president of Sophia Interact Club 2019-20, Sharlene Aranha Our Interact teachers Ms.Alphonsa, Ms.PrithviShastry, Ms. Anita Saldahna, Ms.Sneha Ram & Ms.Nisha welcomed and introduced all the esteemed Guests, our beloved Principal, Sr. Alpana and parents who had joined us virtually on a zoom link.

The evening was graced by Chief Guest, Rotarian Krishna B. Mariyanka,(District Youth Services Director) and guests of honour Rotarians K.T. Suresh (DICC), DevarajanKalladan (President, Rotary Club Koramangala) & his wife the First Lady, L. Selvam George (Director, Youth Services), C.L.N. Sastry (Secretary, Rotary Koramangala) and Shankar,Immediate past DICC,ShivanandBellare. (Past DICC), MahikaAdappa[ DIR] & Jyosshika (ex interactors of Sophia High School now Rotaractors) also joined the ceremony.

The programme started with an audio visual presentation of Interact Club activities of the year gone by (2019-20).Sharlene Aranha, former President of the Interact Club, then shared her experience and journey as an interactor in an emotional speech covering experiences ofDaanUtsav – food donation, Free medical camp with the breast cancer screening Pink Express, Blood Donation,Concert merchandise sales, Environment activity at Anekal Forest etc.

Then came the much awaited Installation ceremony, as the Chief Guest and our teacher installed the newly elected President, Secretary and Director of Press & Media and the remaining newly elected17 Directors to the Board of the Interact club who accepted it grateful as their parents looked on with pride. The Interact teacherswere acknowledged and Ms.NishaDsouzawas welcomed as a new member of the Interact Teachers team.

The newly installed President Rhea Elizabeth, then addressed the virtual gathering with gratitude and apromise to serve as well as her seniors and to lead her team. Then speeches of vision, growth and leadership were delivered by the Rotarians. Finally, Sr. Alpana, our Principal, addressed the virtual gathering recalling fond memories of the pre-Covid work and also shared her vision for Interact Club.

A PPT of the photos of the ex –team was presented with the soft copy of the certificates they would be receiving after the virtual assemblyto acknowledge their great contribution in the preceding year.

A Vote of Thanks was proposed by the newly elected Director – Press & Media, Interact Club , Trisha Lynnette Nathan, was followed by the adjournment of the meeting by the Secretary RiaSagar. Thechoir’s recorded school song was played to close the curtains on the evening.And all guest dignitaries showered praises for a well conducted online ceremony as the young interactors left with a smile on their lips.
