St Julie’s Feast Day Assembly

On July 12, 2024, Sophia High School paid tribute to St. Julie on her Feast Day and bore testament to the school’s 75th jubilee of fostering community spirit with great enthusiasm and reverence in the artfully decorated school auditorium. The assembly conducted by the Mater building involved more than 150 students showcasing their dedication and creativity in honouring the life and legacy of St. Julie.

The prayer service included an invocation dance and Bible Reading reflecting God’s goodness followed by prayer intentions for the entire Sophia community and leadership. The whole school audience watched with rapt attention as a captivating skit interspersed with a series of vibrant dances performed to the live singing of harmonious melodies by the choir unfolded on stage. It was not only a narration of the blessings St. Julie Billiart received for her deep faith in the goodness of God despite her deep pain and suffering but also a depiction of her establishing the congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame after a call from her Creator. Additionally, it was a reminder of the dual glorious 75th year Platinum Jubilee presence of SND in India as well as that of Sophia School with its evolutionary Opportunity school over the 75 years as they continue in the footsteps of St.Julie living the values of faith, simplicity and service especially in the education of the girl child and the less fortunate.

The event was graced by our principals- Srs. Alpana, Vishala and Madhuja, Superior of the convent Sr. Priscilla and other sisters of the convent and the PTA. Finally Sr. Shoba, added a special significance to the celebration, with her insights on the Charism of St.Julie guiding SND and Sophia school. The Mater staff and students were lauded and everyone left with a sense of community and spirituality.
