The 70th Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sophia
High School, under the theme “Karunada Sambhrama” (Celebration of
Karnataka).
The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony led by Sr. Alpana,
Principal of Sophia High School. This was followed by a series of vibrant cultural
performances by the students, including traditional dances, songs, skits, and
other artistic presentations that beautifully showcased the richness of the
Kannada language, culture, and heritage.
In her address, Sr. Alpana delivered a heartfelt message on the importance of
preserving and promoting the Kannada language and culture, reminding
everyone of their responsibility to pass on this legacy to future generations.
The event was graced by Sr. Priscilla (Secretary of Sophia School),
Sr. Alpana, Sr. Vishala, Sr. Madhuja, PTA members, and a large gathering of
students and staff, all of whom contributed to the festive spirit of the occasion.
A special note of appreciation was extended to Sr. Alpana and the dedicated
Kannada Department teachers — Ms. Nisha Souz, Ms. Sudha L., Ms.
Rosemary, and Ms. Malathi — along with the music team, for their sincere efforts
in organizing a memorable celebration that paid tribute to Kannada’s rich cultural
legacy.
