MFM Launch and Conclusion

The virtual Sophia Run 2021 was an online event from 23rd to 26th Jan, 2021 planned in response to the country’s distress migration viewed during the Covid lockdown conceived by SND, Bangalore and Sophia High School Interact club and executed by the Sports dept.

Sophia students had to pay ₹300 to register before December 20th using the school mail to show support. In turn, they would get a T-shirt and certificate for it. It was a whole school collaboration once the logo and firm was ready with efficient logistical support in T-shirt distribution by the Sports dept. The Participants were the staff, parents and students right from the juniors to seniors.

On 23rd January, the inaugural day, Sr. Mary Chethana, SND, Provincial Superior, Visitation province, flagged off the event with the school flag in the presence of Principals Sr. Alpana, Sr. Anjana and Sr.Madhuja, Treasurer Sr.Divya with the Interact club teachers Nisha and Anita as well as Sports teachers Anitha, Mahesh, Mahesha and Sathya.

200 students of grade 10 and around 150 grade 12 students witnessed the inaugural ceremony in the school campus. The sisters appreciated and blessed the students for their outreach as the school resounded with their Move for Migrants slogan with their teachers urging them on.Their shared T-shirt photos were made into motivating videos on all 4 days and shared by the Interact club.

The 26th of January, 2021, was the grand finale or final day of this virtual event.In the presence of sisters and chief guest Fr. Richard OFM, Administrator, St. Charles school, who hoisted the flag, the Interactors and their teachers, Anitha, Prithvi, Sneha and Alphonsa concluded the event.

Sr. Alpana appreciated not only Art teacher Ms.Diana, Logo designer, and Ms. Smitha, google form designer for their brilliant contributions but also the sports dept. and Interact club for the success of the event. They truly rekindled hope for all Indians on this Republic Day in 2021 Like a new awakening where justice belongs to all even the distressed migrants.
