NRSM Outreach Report

On the 7th of April 2026, an outreach visit was conducted for the School Council and NCC cadets to the Bengaluru Traffic Police Park and the Bengaluru Traffic Police Museum and Experience Centre. The aim was to educate students about road signs, traffic rules and the evolution of traffic management in Bengaluru.

The visit began at the Bengaluru Traffic Police Park, located in Shanthala Nagar, Bangalore. The park uses simulated environments to teach road signs and traffic rules. The mandatory and informative signs were explained in detail and the essential Do’s and Don’ts of disciplined traffic behaviour were highlighted.

The group then visited the Bengaluru Traffic Police Museum and Experience Centre in Shivaji Nagar, Bangalore. Maintained by the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP), it is the only traffic police museum in India. It showcases the evolution of traffic management, from early uniforms to modern equipment, along with vintage patrol vehicles and signalling systems. The centre also featured interactive exhibits that enhanced understanding of traffic systems.

Overall, the visit emphasized the importance of road safety and reinforced that it is a shared community responsibility.
