An orientation programme for Class 8 students and their parents was held on 10
January 2026 in the school auditorium. The programme aimed to guide students
and parents in making informed subject choices for Classes 9 and 10.
The session commenced with a warm welcome
address by Ms. Anita P, followed by a prayer led
by Ms. Precina. The High School Principal,
Sr. Alpana, then addressed the gathering and
highlighted the importance and objectives of the
orientation programme.
Ms.Alka briefed the audience on the rules and
regulations of the CISCE Board, explaining the
examination pattern, pass percentage, and an
overview of subjects under Group 1. Teachers from
various departments—Ms. Preethi, Mr. Titto, and
Ms. Anitha Saldanha—provided detailed
explanations of the subject options available in Group 2. They guided students
on choosing between Mathematics and Environmental Science, as well as
between Science and Commercial Studies, stressing how each choice plays a
crucial role in shaping future academic and career paths.
The teachers also introduced subjects offered under Group 3, including
Computer Applications, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Mass Media and
Communication, Art, Economics, and Physical Education, making the session
informative and engaging.
The Principal later addressed the audience
again, clearly explaining the subject selection
process as per CISCE Board guidelines. The
programme concluded with an interactive
question-and-answer session, during which
parents’ queries were patiently addressed by the
Principal and the concerned subject teachers.
Overall, the orientation
programme was highly beneficial
and provided students and
parents with a clear
understanding of subject
selection for Class 9, enabling
them to make well-informed
decisions.
