On the 1st of August, we, the students of class 9 B visited Sumangali Seva
Ashrama, a non-profit voluntary organization that helps deserted women, orphan
children, and vulnerable senior citizens.
On the bus ride to the orphanage we discussed in what little ways could we
better the day of the inmates of the orphanage with our kind words and gifts or
gestures. We thought about singing or dancing to a song, so they could get some
fun filled entertainment and join for the same too.
On our visit to the first classroom, we were greeted by a group of cheery first
graders. The smiles on the kids were welcoming and gratifying more than words
could ever describe. We distributed the sweets we had taken among the children
and moved on to the next set of classes. The rest of the kids we met at other
classes were no less excited to have us there. It was a wholesome experience to
assimilate the daily routine of the kids who were at the Sevashrama. We
entertained the senior citizen inmates. Towards the end we clicked pictures with
the children and the elderly women of the Sevashrama to treasure this wonderful
day we spent there.
On our journey back to the school each one of us couldn’t thank the lord enough
for bestowing us with countless blessings and positivity around in the form of
parents, teachers, friends and other privileges only a percent of the world can
have. We the students of class 9 B would like to thank our class teacher Mrs.
Chethana R K and co-class teacher Mrs. Suparna Mukherjee for accompanying
us on this wonderful and gratifying trip and our principal, Sr. Alpana for making
this trip possible and help us create these amazing memories for life.
Thank you
