On the 11 th of February, 2025, the awards function of WOW..Well being out
of Waste'by ITC was held at Ambedkar Bhawan. Sophia High school under
the able guidance of our Principals Sr.Alpana, Sr.Vishala and Sr.Madhuja,
with the Interact Club had organised a school-wide collection of old
newspapers and used notebooks, textbooks, office stationery during the
academic year and out of 377 schools in Karnataka it got the silver award for
the 2nd highest collection. The Interactors had been very proactive in helping
out with the collection and spreading the word. One of Sophia's students,
Saanika of class 10, also became the highest contributor across Karnataka
schools out of 1,60,000 students.
Sophia Interact teachers, Ms.Nisha, Ms.Anitha S, Ms.Prithvi and
Ms.Alphonsa and student leaders received the awards on behalf of the
Principal and the whole school. The participants gained precious lessons in
the process about saving lives by caring for creation.
