Sophia Model United Nations was a cry for enlightenment in a dark and trying
time.
The thirteenth edition of Sophia Model United Nations conducted on October 14,
15, and 16, 2022 was a marvelous success, filled with the brimming enthusiasm
of brilliant minds in conducive environments. One of the highlights of the opening
ceremony was the presence of Mr. Ewouit de Wit, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Netherlands, who
brought a global edge and opinion to set the tone for future arguments.
We had a total of 12 schools participating, with over 200 daring delegates putting
their heads together to make the world a better place.
The committees comprised the Futuristic Crisis Committee, All India Political
Parties Meet, European Union, United Nations Human Rights Council, the
Economic and Social Council, and the United Nations Security Council. These
brilliantly structured committees brought to light issues ranging from constraints
on bodily autonomy to war-torn political situations. It emphasized the importance
to wield and work with power.
We are proud to have hosted 13 prominent schools with 242 delegates. Mallya
Aditi International School took away the best delegation award.
It was a magical bustle of three days that went by quicker than expected. Every
painstakingly crafted argument and every carefully curated stance culminated in
ideas and strategies that taught every delegated tolerance and truth- that the
world is full of opportunities to bring forth change and goodness.
We are the civilization defined by power - Sophia High School Model United
Nations 2023 taught students how to rise above, powerfully.
