Std. XI Orientation Programme

Std. XI orientation organised on Zoom was attended by 146 students and their parents. The session that was organised in the evening began with a short prayer service by the members of the newly elected Student Council. Sr. Alpana delivered the keynote address which reiterated the values that Sophia and each Sophiate stands for. A video on Sophia life compiled by the Student Council leaders was screened that made many nostalgic including Sophia Alumnus, Dr. Gita Narayanan.

Chief Guest Dr. Gita Narayanan, founder Director of Mallya Aditi International School and Srishti school of Art and Design, spoke on the parable of ‘Who moved my cheese’ an apt one for the new entrants. She urged them to have the right attitude and be involved in the learning process.

The programme continued with the introduction of the faculty members and enlightening parents of the protocol of online classes and assessment mode. The question answer session had enthusiastic and eager parents asking questions that varied from yoga classes to school transport.

The session ended for parents but continued for students who met stream wise in the breakout rooms to introduce themselves in the presence of their teachers. Many expressed their desire to pursue sports and music in Sophia besides academics.

The day ended on a fulfilling note for students with the excitement of beginning a new journey in Sophia.
