Date: 23 June 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Venue: School Auditorium
Speaker: Mr. George Ebenezer
Participants: Students of Classes V–VIII

Sophia High School organized a meaningful awareness programme on Healthy Friendships and Personal Safety for students of Classes V to VIII. The session was conducted by renowned counsellor and life-skills educator, Mr. George Ebenezer, under the Beyond Barriers initiative.

The programme focused on helping students understand the value of healthy friendships, personal boundaries, emotional well-being, and responsible decision-making. Through engaging discussions, relatable examples, and interactive activities, Mr. Ebenezer encouraged students to identify positive relationships and develop the confidence to make safe and informed choices.

A key highlight of the session was a practical decision-making framework that encouraged students to reflect on:
● Things that I can do
● Things that I cannot do
● Things that I will do
● Things that I will not do
The speaker emphasized that true friends respect one another's boundaries, support each other in times of need, and never pressure others into uncomfortable situations. Students were also reminded of the importance of trusting their instincts, saying “no” when necessary, seeking help from trusted adults, and making choices that promote their safety and well-being.

The interactive nature of the programme kept the students actively involved and provided them with valuable life skills to navigate social situations confidently and responsibly. The session was highly appreciated by both students and teachers and concluded with a renewed commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment.
