“You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it
himself.”

After a relaxing summer break, teachers of Sophia High School returned to
school on the
29 th of May, 2023 to a day of orientation curated just for them. As tradition
recounts, day one of orientation began with invoking God’s blessings with a
prayer service by the Sisters of Notre Dame. The prayer service focused on
‘Don’t build your house on a sandy land.’ The prayer service calmed the minds
of the teachers and prepared them for the session 2023-2024.
Introducing new teachers is a well-awaited part of the day; the teachers were
glad to see and welcome many new faces. This was followed by an enriching
session by Dr. Gururaj Karajagi, a well-known academician and the Chairman
& Director of the Academy of Creative Teaching who was gracious enough to
accept the school’s invitation to enlighten the minds of the teachers with his
teaching. It was an interactive session filled with activities wherein he focused
on the topic ‘Education Unplugged.’ Day one of orientation concluded with a
meeting with
Sr Alpana, Principal of the High School.
