On Saturday, 28th January 2023, by 9 am the students of Class 8B went in
the school arranged BMTC bus on an outreach trip to St. Louisa Home in
Cooke Town, established in 2016 with the main aim of educating the family
deprived girl child and nurturing them for a promising future. There are about
19 disadvantaged girls ranging from Grades 1 to 7. Though many are
orphans, some children are visited at times by their single parents. The
children lead a very disciplined and activity filled day, like rising at 6 am and
going for hockey training, etc. All girls are responsible to follow their individual
timetable for the English-medium school they study in in order to excel. The
visit was marked with singing and dancing performances, a game of musical
chairs and a rhythmic gymnastics routine from 8B children and the orphans in
turn also showcased their talents. Donations included essential items mainly
sponsored by the school management and some donated by the children.
They were sanitary pads, coconut oil,items of oral and personal hygiene,
papad, both bathing and washing soaps,10 litres of Dettol, detergents, toilet
and bathroom cleaners , 60 kgs of groceries like rice, lentils, gram, nuts, oil,
sugar, snacks, noodles stationery and hand towels.
