The Workers’ Day Celebration at Sophia High School was held on 30th
October 2025 at the Stone Stage, with the inspiring theme — “Anchor:
Celebrating the Strength of Those Who Serve Silently.” The programme
beautifully reflected gratitude, unity, and appreciation for the tireless service of
the school’s workers, who form the foundation of its daily functioning.
The celebration commenced with a grand procession of the workers, warmly
applauded by the entire school community. This was followed by a general
welcome and a prayer service that set a tone of reverence and thanksgiving.
The intentions were offered in multiple languages by students representing
various school houses, each remembering a special group — the
maintenance staff, their families, the retiring members, the Sisters of Notre
Dame, and the Sophia family. A prayer dance and a medley of hymns added a
devotional spirit to the occasion.
The entertainment programme, presented by all school houses, was vibrant
and heartfelt, featuring lively dances and performances by the students. A
special performance by the teachers brought smiles and cheers from the
audience.
A touching highlight of the day was the felicitation of two retiring staff
members — Ms. Rita Febi, who completed 26 years of dedicated service in
the Special School and Canteen, and Ms. Regina, who served 21 years in the
School and Laboratories. Both were honoured for their unwavering
commitment, warmth, and invaluable contribution to the institution. All other
workers — including the maintenance, canteen, and security staff — were
also felicitated, receiving heartfelt appreciation from the school community.
The event concluded with the Principal, Sr. Alpana’s address, expressing
deep gratitude to the workers for their silent yet powerful service, followed by
a vote of thanks delivered by one of the workers. The celebration ended with a
group photograph, capturing the spirit of unity, respect, and joy that marked
this meaningful occasion.
