On the 10th of November, 2024, the class 12th C accompanied by Ms. Jibi and Ms. Janet embarked on a journey to serve the underprivileged community of Nelamangala Village through
Dr. B. Ramana Rao’s Free Clinic as part of our annual outreach program, where we assisted healthcare professionals in providing essential medical care to the villagers.
The day began with a sense of excitement as we boarded the bus at 8 a.m., eager to contribute to the well-being of others. Upon arriving at the clinic, we were warmly welcomed by the Dr. Rao and
Mr. Thripurendra, his most trusted lab technician, who provided us with a comprehensive introduction about the roles, responsibilities and achievements of the clinic.
After felicitating our hosts, our class was split into 2 groups, 17 in each. As Group 1 was taken to the entrance of the clinic, Group 2 was led into an open truck and taken into the village which was an adventure in itself. We were first driven to a dairy farm where we were greeted by a friendly white dog we named Sandy who guided us to the entrance of the dairy farm. We learnt here about the types of milk and how they are classified into those adulterated and those not, here, we also learnt about the technology used to calculate the percentage of fat and water contents in the milk received and given away to the factories nearby to pack away. Driving a little further, we reached a beautiful farm filled with Imli or Tamarind trees where we noticed the perfect sceneries and great hills in the distance till we later reached a chicken farm which housed more than 150 chickens to source both meat and eggs.
