On 26 th of November, Sophia High School with association of Tumkur Youth
Hikers organised an Adventure Camp for the NCC Cadets of Class 8 and 9.
There were 23 cadets from class 9 and 20 cadets from class 8 who attended
the adventure camp. The bus arrived in school by 8 am. All the cadets were
packed and instructed regarding the camp. With lots of energy and
enthusiasm cadets travelled to the camp – “Bon Fire BanneMantapa”, situated
near Kanakapura road near Nittegere. The Tumkur Youth Hikers organiser Mr.
Keerty and his associate travelled with us and made sure all the cadets could
complete their adventure activities.
As soon as we reached, delicious breakfast was provided. Cadets received
the food in a very disciplined manner. Then the adventure activities began.
They started with Zip line activity, where all the cadets enjoyed. Next was High
level rope activities followed by sky cycling. All these activities were very
adventurous and challenging to the cadets. By the time we finished all the
activities it was lunch time, few cadets rested whereas the others enjoyed
indoor activities like Table Tennis, Chess, Carom Board, Snooker, Foos Ball.
After a while cadets jumped into the swimming pool to cool down and enjoy
the rest of the day. They even enjoyed Rain Dancing Activity. During this
period, few cadet’s birthday was celebrated by cutting the cake. Then the
cadets changed and were provided with tea and snacks. The cadets
assembled for a group picture and head count was taken.
Ms. Smitha Huddar NCC Co-Ordinator and Ms. Prithvi accompanied the
cadets to the camp. With the support of our Principal
Sr. Alpana SND and 8 Kar BN NCC, cadets got a great opportunity, exposure
and experience to explore the Adventure Camp.
